30's Film ads

I recently acquired a load of flyers from various movie theaters from the 1930's. They have all these great advertisements for upcoming films and I figured why not share 'em with my readers in between my articles about El Brendel and Sexy time Saturday's. Enjoy!

Those are great, and they work too! I really want to see The Cat Creeps now. I saw part of The Star Witness with Dickie Moore and it is really worth seeing; I like Chic Sale a lot.

Fab. These are great.

Do you mind if I reproduce the Animal Crackers one over at the Marx Brothers Council of Britain? We have a running thing going with odd ads. This one's a beaut.

By the way - I need to see The Cat Creeps too: I'm doing some research for a book and I can't track the damned thing down. Anyone got a copy???

Sure, you can copy it, just give credit and a link, if that's cool.

I also sure would like to see "The Cat Creeps" but it is officially declared a Lost Film...totally gone, unfortunately. But the soundtrack discs do exist and I have a copy, plus a few stills, so that's got to be good enough for now...at least I can hear it.

Great stuff! I often wondered what the point of Zeppo was. Now it's obvious. The Zestful Zaney! That must be he most unflattering drawing of Jean Harlow too. Makes her look like a character in a children's comic. Must say I really am enjoying your blog. Nice to be educated as well as entertained.
